Detailed Family and Group Analysis

Special analysis for the themes and energies
that are active within a group
(for groups, families, and teams of 3 or more people).

With the help of a family or group analysis, you can precisely identify which of the involved individuals brings in which special energies and themes, and how they thereby fundamentally change and co-determine the unique dynamic of your family/group in a very special way. This analysis makes it clear which specific components make up the unique structure of this special grouping, and what this means for each individual as well as for their interactions with one another. It also becomes evident that it is nonsensical to demand something from one of the participants that they do not embody and thus cannot contribute, which repeatedly leads to corresponding tensions and even conflicts.

With this precise knowledge, what is present can then be fully acknowledged and optimally utilized for everyone. Then, a truly appropriate way of interacting with each other forms the basis for a functioning community, and the special ‘adventure of family’ can succeed.

“The whole is always more than just the sum of its parts.”

Understanding Group Dynamics

Regardless of the profession you practice or wish to practice: work always involves physical effort – whether you’re thinking, carrying boxes, having conversations, or operating a keyboard.

So, whether you use your head or your hands – you can only contribute what you have.

When two colors have mixed, it’s still relatively easy to determine which two components make up the new third color that has emerged from this combination. However, when the mix involves three or more colors, analyzing the individual components that led to this complex combination becomes increasingly difficult as the number of colors increases. Similarly, the specific mixing ratio naturally becomes more unclear with more components.

The same applies to small groups formed by more than two people. Determining who among the individual members colors the group dynamics with which energies and themes becomes increasingly difficult as the number of members grows. Every person not only contributes their own color but also inevitably changes the existing overall picture and the dynamics of interaction. Thus, each individual causes a completely new outcome, which then represents a totally new structure not only for all other participants but also for themselves.

In every small group – including and especially in every family – a very own dynamic is at work. In a partnership, both parties are oriented towards each other. However, as soon as a child enters the lives of these two people, the existing structure inevitably breaks open and expands.

Each child embodies its own energies, which inevitably affect its environment and automatically change and determine the dynamics of the newly formed small family. Every additional family member that joins causes a fundamental change in the existing constellation and requires a completely new way of interacting with each other.

Even when a pet is introduced into the family, it influences the overall pattern with its specific energies and changes the structure. Group dynamics are always more than just the sum of their parts.

The specific themes and energies embodied by the individual members of your family invariably determine the content and the particular dynamics of your family. Either because they are allowed to occur unhindered, or because they are not permitted, which is only associated with effort and resistance.

However, it is only in the ideal case that a family is actually influenced exclusively by the themes and energies embodied by its members. This ideal case is very rare. Not only because parts of the existing forces are not desired and suppressed, but also because there is an attempt to install non-existent themes where there are no foundations for them.

The Own and the Foreign

In most families, it is typically the forces that do not naturally come from within but are introduced from the outside that are very active. Very often, by comparing with other families, there is an attempt to adapt to their beliefs in certain areas (… what will the neighbors think …). As a result, themes coming from the outside often determine the inner structure in a foreign manner.

Mostly, these are – often unconsciously effective – beliefs and ideas that participants think a family can only function properly and be a ‘real’ family if a particular concept is fulfilled. Therefore, there is often an attempt to force life into this concept and make it fit one’s own idea of life.

However, this causes some energies present in the family to easily act as disruptive if they stand in the way of fulfilling this concept or do not correspond to it. And so, parts of the existing potential are often suppressed, which would develop a very own group dynamic if they were allowed to.

In the continuous attempt to shape family life following an external pattern as it corresponds to the inner idea, the innate talents of the involved individuals are automatically determined by external forces – subjected to a foreign purpose. They are not allowed to occur as they would naturally, but must fulfill something they would never shape on their own.

As a result, many families repeatedly struggle with certain themes, resistance, resentment, and frustration. However, this can easily be avoided if the causes are precisely known. Instead of fighting against windmills, energy can be invested in supporting the forces that are present.

All forces – whether they are one’s own or foreign – inevitably determine the energetic pattern that is active within your family and constitutes its special dynamics.

If you precisely know the natural energies present in your family, you can allow them to unfold appropriately. Family life can shape itself from its own dynamics. Together, you can appreciate and utilize what is present. No one needs to try any longer to install something that might be desirable but is not natural for your particular family. Because what is constructed requires energy to be installed and maintained.

What is natural and allowed to remain so exists and lives by itself. It does not cost energy – it gives energy.

Who brings which energies and themes?

With the help of a family or group analysis, you can precisely identify who among the participants brings which energies and themes, and how they thereby uniquely determine the special dynamics of your family.

This makes it clear what is truly present and can be reliably utilized at any time. It becomes evident which components make up the unique structure of your family and what this means for the interaction among its members.

Depending on the number of its members, specific laws of design are active in every group. Therefore, a group of three people inherently operates under a different pattern than a group of four. Likewise, a group of five or six people functions according to its own laws. Depending on the number of people, a group or family analysis can precisely depict each of these basic patterns and name the details of their special structure.

Only if you know all the energies present within your family can you adequately respond to them. This also allows you to precisely recognize which themes are not inherent in your family and, despite perhaps being desirable, cannot be fulfilled on their own.

If your goal is not to chase an ideal but to appreciate and utilize the existing forces, then a family analysis can tell you exactly which themes and energies are truly present in your family.

Insight into group dynamics

Based on the analysis of the fundamental structure of each family member, a family analysis can additionally provide precise information on the following aspects of group dynamics:

  • What particular structure for order and discipline is possible or necessary within the family/group, and who among the participants embodies or requires exactly which special energies related to this.

  • Who among the participants is responsible, and who is not, for carrying out joint activities and gathering shared experiences. Who provides or requires the necessary security, and who embodies or requires that their own experiences from the outside world be brought into the family.

  • Which family member embodies or requires the necessity of financial security, and who fundamentally determines the family’s direction in relation to work and earning money.

  • What needs exist in each individual to present the family in some way to the outside world, or to represent it alone. Who among the participants embodies or requires consideration of this aspect, and if so, in what way.

  • Which family member embodies or requires energies that are specifically oriented towards the future to find a secure place there, and what is the nature of this energy.

  • For which family member is it truly important to have contact with their grandparents, etc., because they see themselves as part of a larger family that has its own past and its own story(ies). Which of the family members embodies or requires which specific reference to this.

  • Who in the family tends to compare themselves with other families and for whom this is not important.

  • Regarding which of the above-mentioned themes and areas are no predispositions present in individual family members, which must also be appropriately acknowledged.

  • Regarding which of the above-mentioned aspects are no components present in this particular family as a whole and should therefore also be taken into account.

Misunderstanding and ignorance of a person’s uniqueness inevitably lead to resistance, suppressed or open aggressiveness, frustration, and resentment within a group. This repeatedly leads to specific confrontations that unnecessarily burden or even poison the family atmosphere.

However, those who know and understand exactly what is actually present within their family, and therefore can be utilized and lived without resistance and effort, simultaneously understand which special themes the family is free from because there is no one in it who embodies that energy.

Knowing the themes that play no role in one’s family can be seen as a relief and felt as liberation. There is no longer a need to advocate for certain themes when the corresponding energies are demonstrably absent. However, viewing this as a ‘flaw’ will automatically lead to feelings of inadequacy and a strained fight for a fictitious order or structure – with foreseeable consequences for all involved.

When the details are known, what is important to one family member can be acknowledged and valued. Likewise, it can be recognized that this is not important for the life of another. Then, it is no longer expected that specific demands of individuals should be met by those family members who, by their nature, have demonstrably nothing to do with this theme.

When each participant within the family is kept free from the themes from which they are internally free anyway, they can live in harmony with themselves. This inevitably affects the whole family, as they then automatically do not become a source of disharmony in the family because they are not forced to be someone they are not.

Accepting that something might be ‘missing’ compared to other families protects oneself and others not only from external control but also from unnecessary overexertion.

Those who acknowledge and appreciate what exists can adjust their mental concepts of a ‘perfect’ or ‘correct’ family to reality and then allow the unique dynamics of their family to occur with precise knowledge and understanding.

Because neither an individual member nor the entire family as a group is tasked with fulfilling demands or themes that are not inherent in them.

Then, the special ‘adventure of family’ can succeed.
